Halloween

This is how I always spend Halloween, it was a full house this year. Too many kids in my neighborhood, just can't keep up with the candy so I don't even try anymore. This year Border's has free Wi-Fi but nowhere to plug in the computer. Micron pen in the 5.5x8 inch Pentalic journal, double page spread. Crossposted to artsomofo.

Urban sketch #2

8am on Joanne Ave in Ventura, CA. Mom was getting some labwork done. I've been wanting to do a street with parked cars and trees. I couldn't translate the color of the street but it was brightly reflecting sunshine. Yup, I think that does it. Ink & watercolor in the 6x8 inch watercolor pad.

This is my view from the treadmills and elliptical machines at my gym. After my workout today, I went out and sketched this. 30 min, ink & watercolor in a 6x8 inch watercolor pad.

Struggled to create something this weekend...until I drove a little old lady to church. This is Santa Clara Chapel. There's a bell out front signifying it's historically significant to California. Maybe someday I'll find out why. Gel pen in my 4x6 inch handmade leatherbound journal. This is Urban #1 because I'm going to start counting them in this blog.

Ventura Harbor

Got to have a couple hours of Plein Air (sans the clingy parental unit--YAY!) this morning. I've been working on color lately and my perspective skills have been failing me. The first drawing had major problems so I wanted to work on another with better perspective. I'm much happier with this. Graphite in a really old 12x12 scrapbook with non-archival paper.
